What's the oldest car ( or truck , bike , etc. ) you have used as a daily driver ? Mine was a hand-me-down 1970 GMC longbed pickup, straight 6 and three on the tree . Drove it till the fenders rusted off .

I don't have any pix but I had a late 1968/69 F-series. I remember it had a 3 on the tree, and the shifter stalk used to fall off. We lived in metro Detroit and I hated driving it in the summer. (Pic is from Wikipedia).
For a second vehicle when I was a Missileer in Wyoming, I had a 1970ish F-250. It was a monster. It had a nasty rattle, so I called into Car Talk on NPR. You actually leave a message, then a producer calls, and then you get a call from Ray and Tom. It was a hoot. My Squadron Commander, a Texan, wanted to buy it, but I was concerned about the rattle. Click and Clack said to slap a set of horns on it and unload it. It was fun being on their show. I can't remember what I did with the beast.

I think there needs to be a stipulation here. If you were driving that '70 pickup in 1973, that's not nearly as impressive as assuming it's the current day.
My oldest daily driver is my '91 Audi 90 Quattro 20V (2010-present). I only ever used it as a daily driver for about a month at a time though due to reliability issues. My oldest true daily driver is my '96 Pontiac Grand Prix SE coupe (2006-present). The oldest car I've used for daily-driver-esque activities is my father-in-law's '52 Buick Super, but I wouldn't actually call it a daily driver.

Nothing too old for me. I had a 1981 suburban as my first car but it was less than 10 years old when I started driving it. It was 14 years old when I traded it in.
I daily'd both LeMons cars that I owned. An '86 Nissan 200SX and then an '86 Honda Prelude. I commuted in both of them for a couple months before they became "race cars"

I love those late 40's - early 50's GM cars . Cool that you got to drive one semi-regularly.

1967 Toyota Corolla, it was orange with black front fenders and no grill. First car in High school, so in 1994. Neighbor lady bought it new and hit a elk in 1970, then it sat in her barn until i found it. How embarrassing, i paid for my first car by milking cows.
It did not like hills or the Highway or starting, or braking.

You can pretty much build a whole flat fender from an OMIX-ADA parts catalog.

Had a really "great-to-drive" 1972 Datsun 240Z with A/C and an AM radio, but it was a 4-speed and all the mechanicals were kept in nearly new (but OEM) condition. Gave it to the daughter, and have been terribly sorry ever since. Also, she sold it to an out-of-state person only one month after I gifted it to her.

I DD'd my first car, a '77 Firebird Esprit in 1997-98.
Doesn't seem like a big deal now, but 20 years old then was really fucking old. Now, not so much.

my first car was a 77 trans am with 100,000 miles . that doesn't sound like a lot now , but that f-body was pretty worn out at that point .

Yeah mine had 90ish on it and was already quite tired and needed a lot of little things, and was starting to rust.
Bought it from my aunt who had also DD'd it up until 1993 or so, and it sat in storage until I bought it. I can't remember when she got it, but it had to be in the early 80's. I remember riding in it when I was 5 or so.

My first daily driver (in 1998) was a 1985 Peugeot 505STI, so only 13 years old. She caught fire twice! And was rebuilt both times to continue on living and then was ironically donated to the fire department because we just couldn't get parts anymore and I was gone at school and my Dad needed it out.
For a brief time drove a 1972 Land Rover Series III RHD as a daily driver (2008-2010), a respectable 36 years old. Still have that one thankfully, but have upgraded to a more reliable DD, so I could actually show up to work once and a while!
My goal is to have 6 vintage cars in reliable shape (not show cars) and 1 modern car and drive a different one every day. Half way there and as of now the oldest is a '68 Toyota FJ40.

We actually only have a 1 car garage. The rest are outside, DDs open and 2 classics under covers.
We're getting ready to add to our home though and that includes a 3-4 car garage that with lifts should fit the future fleet, plus a carport. Should be finished some time next year. If any oppos find themselves in south florida and in the need of a lift to work on their car, I'd be happy to help out.
